About Dr. Carlson
Doctor Carlson has had a lifelong love of animals. Growing up he had many pets including farm animals such as chickens, ducks, and horses as well many dogs and cats. At the age of 16, Dr. Carlson began working for a veterinarian and discovered his passion for veterinary medicine. He and his wife currently share their home with their two Labrador retrievers Phoebe and Bailey, as well as their cat Noah, two guinea pigs, and a parrot.
Doctor Carlson did his undergraduate work at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He continued his veterinary schooling at the College of Veterinary Medicine, also at Cornell. After some time working in a mixed equine and small animal practice in Vermont, Dr. Carlson relocated to Ipswich, MA. He continued to work in mixed practice for nearly a decade before finally switching solely to a focus in small animal medicine.
Over the years Dr. Carlson has also found many interests outside of the veterinary field. These have included field trialing Labrador retrievers, competitive sailing, and coaching girls lacrosse. More recently Dr. Carlson has been focusing on an interest in photography. Many of his photos can be seen displayed around the office and exam rooms of Animal Care.
