To be perfectly honest, we couldn’t say enough good things. He listens and he is caring. Joe (her husband) said if he was a human doctor he would go to him. The older dogs would not be alive if it weren’t for him. We have so much confidence in him; he is doing right by our dogs.

The Dearborn family has used Dr. Carlson since at least 1978. Initially we were thrilled because he opened a boarding facility, so I knew that my older dog would be taken care of. Knowing that Dr. Carlson is there if an issue with one of the animals occurs puts me at ease.

Dr. Carlson wouldn’t do anything that he felt didn’t make the quality of life better. I can’t imagine having my dog anywhere else but Animal Care. His staff during the years has been as devoted to the animals under his care as he has been.

Way back to the first dog I had, maybe 20 years ago, he has been a very honest vet. He is not one of those vets that wants you to keep coming back to take your money. I’ve had dogs with problems that he could not solve. He would refer and I respect a person like that. He assess and listens to you, I like his honesty and straight forwardness. Maybe people don’t like that, but he is professional and friendly.

I also like the size, its small and I get to know the staff. They are always friendly and will listen to you even when the phone is ringing off the hook. Consistency is important for a dog and I see that all the way through the care my dogs receive. Lastly, he runs his business very clean and immaculate.

The last 3-4 years the staff has been fabulous, I can call them with an emergency and they will fit me in. Dr. Carlson takes the time to talk to us like human beings, not using technical terms. I have no problems traveling from Rockport.

The fact that Chode always goes in and out waging his tail indicates he is well cared for. At other places my dogs would cower. Knowing my vet and kennel are one in the same is a huge thing for me because if there was a problem Dr. Carlson is right there. The biggest testimony is that I’ve been going there for a long time. When my husband died, the whole staff couldn’t have been better. They took the dog right away and helped out more than I realized at the time. It’s the little things that make a difference; the logistics, the reminders, the receipts and the pictures.

We’ve known him for 30 years, he has been wonderful. Because of his treatment for Panda she not only survived, but she had a wonderful life afterwards. We’ve seen him through joyous moments and sad ones.

Dr. Carlson has been my vet for over 25 years. Dr. Carlson has always been there for all of our animals from beginning to end. I have complete trust, in the care my animals receive especially since Dr. Carlson was the only one to believe my 12 year old dog would live after surgery from a 5lb tumor on his spleen. He not only survived, but lived another 6 years.

For many years, Mouse has been a “frequent flyer” at Animal Care… aka “The Puppy Palace”. Arriving, she announces with a loud bark, “I’m back!” and the tail wags happily. We can always go away fir extended or just short periods of time and relax knowing the dog is well cared for. We’ve had emergencies which Dr. Carlson and the staff covered and carefully reported to our own vet. As Mouse has aged the staff has shown extra care and compassion. We are very satisfied with the services Animal Care provides.

Our two labs have been frequent visitors at Animal Care since moving to the North Shore, as patients in the veterinary services and guests of the kennel camp. The ability to kennel our dogs and have them seen by the vet while they are at camp was one of the biggest pluses of the services they offer. The boys always come out of camp happy and healthy. The staff is wonderful from the vet assistants to the kennel staff they clearly have an affinity for their four legged patients which we are hard pressed to find at other vets or kennels in the area.

From Charlie Clark, the dog

“Woof, woof, woof, woof” Translation: While I’m not a big fan of seeing the vet or being kenneled it is fun once I’m there because there are dogs I can talk to! If I can’t be at home, Animal Care makes me smile!

I come all the way from Arlington and my pets have been seeing Dr. Carlson for close to 14 years. I like the small office atmosphere. I enjoy seeing Dr. Carlson and have gotten to know the staff; they are courteous and available to answer questions. A lot of it has to do with Dr. Carlson he is a very calm person, which carries through and alleviates the stress when a pet is sick.
