New Puppy/Kitten Exams

A new puppy or kitten in a household is exciting and entertaining for all including all of us at Animal Care. Pediatric needs are different from adult needs and getting your new pet off to a healthy start in life is very important. Examining your new pet will allow us to ensure that your new pup or kitten is healthy and normal and is developing appropriately. Consultation with the staff will include discussion about nutrition, parasite control, vaccination programs, behavioral expectations as well as spay and neuter programs.

Puppies should be brought in for examinations at 8, 12 and 18 weeks. A stool sample should be brought in during the first visit to check for intestinal parasites.

Kittens should be brought in a 9 and 12 weeks for exams and a stool sample should be brought in during the first visit.
